Daily Objective:
“I will…
  • Check my current understanding of Unit 4 Part 1 vocabulary words and make corrections to my work, as needed.
  • Check my understanding while listening/reading by responding to reading guide questions
  • (If given a reading part:) Express proper tone to show characterization & to establish mood while reading out loud

Procedure:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today’s objective(s)?
  • Check completion of Word Wisdom (red vocabulary workbooks) pages 76-77
    • Please walk around with a stamp pad and the roster. Students who have pgs 76-77 completed should receive a stamp in the lower corner of their workbook and a check or mark next to their name on the roster. (I will assume if there is no mark next to their name on the roster then that the student’s work was incomplete.) If any of the assignment looks incomplete, please DO NOT STAMP it: It will be the student’s responsibility to show me their late work when it’s complete (when I return). They are familiar with this procedure, though please remind them.
    • After walking around and stamping/checking workbooks, please direct students back to page 76 to go over the correct answers. Please use my red workbook for the answer key to help you with this. You may call on volunteers to read the statement and then to provide their answers. I do not recommend that you try to go over the correct answers to page 77 unless you’ve had/taken the time to read it first and to understand what was required: answers can vary (so if you choose to do it, just call on one person to share their examples and then perhaps read them the answer from my answer key as another suggestion.)
  • Continue reading Christmas Carol Act II: Scene _. Yesterday, we left on page . Please follow the paper tucked-in to my teacher’s textbook which has characters & assigned readers.
    • Students in the 2nd row from the front should get the books out of the back closet (6th period) for their row and put them back in the closet (7th period) at the end of the day. Again, they’re familiar with this procedure; just tell them whose row is assigned to do it today.
    • The “narrator” reads everything that is in italics or [brackets].
    • Please use my Act II Study Guide as reference to stop and discuss questions after each scene and/or if students have questions along the way. Thank you!
HW:
  • Update/ add to Study Guide Act II answers.
  • Study for tomorrow’s posttest over U4P1 vocabulary words
